Orvakal Rock Gardens (also known as Orvakallu) is a wonderful site with abundant natural beauty of rock formations located 23 kilometres from Kurnool. It is located 3 kilometres from Orvakal village on the Kurnool-Nandyal highway.
Orvakal Rock Garden in Kurnool is one of the lesser-known attractions in Andhra Pradesh. The site also appears in the important scenes of Bahubali – The Beginning. Orvakal Rock Garden is a rare silica and quartz rock formation site with stunning scenery. The rocks are naturally formed around a lake in the centre of the site, which adds to the natural beauty of the area. This is one of the must-see attractions in Kurnool’s vicinity. The rocks have been distributed in a wide area and looks like even the rocks makes us feel so pleasant. The rocks cover an area of 50 acres proximity to the Kurnool-Nandyal highway.
When visitors reach the highest point, they are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the water body, which is outlined by wide expanses of land and azure skies.
Orvakallu is a great place to enjoy a picnic in the shade of the majestic rocks, and it also provides excellent photoshoots for visitors looking to take home souvenirs of their memorable vacation in Andhra Pradesh.
AP Tourism has created a beautiful garden with a restaurant at the entrance and cottages situated throughout. There is a walkway built through the formations that allows tourists to explore the site’s beauty. There is a metal animal garden in the centre of the hilltop with several large animal structures made of iron that is an added attraction. This animal garden features several metallic animal installations that are bigger than life-size and are certain to excite children. Boating on the lake and a cave museum are among the other attractions at Orvakal Rock Garden. There is plenty of parking space and a children’s play area close to the restaurant.
The best time to visit is from September to February, when the lake is full of water, which adds more beauty to this amazing location.
This location is easily accessible by bus from Kurnool and Nandyal, as most buses between the two towns stop here. It takes about an hour to explore the area. Resort rooms are also available in the Rock gardens which are decent to stay along with family.

The entry fee for Rock gardens is Rs. 20/- for adults and Rs. 10/- for children. These rates do not apply to room guests.
