Nikita Porwal Becomes Femina Miss India 2024: The Inspiring Journey of an 18-Year-Old Dreamer

Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh won the title of Femina Miss India 2024 on 16th October in Mumbai. This dazzling event was organized at Famous Studios to mark the 60th edition of the beauty pageant. The poised presence and the radiant smile of the 18-year-old won over the judges, and she took home the coveted crown, passed on by last year’s titleholder, Nandini Gupta. The icing on the cake was provided by Neha Dhupia when she sashed the winner of the beauty pageant with the Miss India sash.

Here is everything you might want to know about Nikita Porwal: Having grown up in Ujjain, a spiritually rich city, Nikita said it was her upbringing that shaped her inquisitive mind and critical thinking.

She attained her school education from Carmel Covent Senior Secondary School and did her graduation at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

Miss Femina believes that Nikita Porwal is a beacon of individuality and perseverance in this world, which often calls for uniformity. Parented to be a thinker and not necessarily just a follower, she was taught early in her life to question norms rather than to follow them blindly. This nurturing environment lit up a curiosity leading her in search of her spiritual roots, erupting the passion to tell stories.

Whereas she is still young, she has acted in more than 60 plays, including a 250-page self-authored production entitled ‘Krishna Leela’.

Nikita’s vision really goes beyond this step. While she wishes to work one day with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a famous Indian director, she invests diligently in honing her craft and has already done a film called ‘Chambal Paar’, an internationally acknowledged feature film.

Nikita Porwal surely personifies the character of a staunch animal lover:

Her ambition is limitless, and so is her compassion. An ardent animal lover, she wishes to use this new platform for spreading kindness and empathy toward all living creatures.

“Animal welfare is something that is very close to my heart. The mere thought of these innocent animals having to bear cruelty and torture sends shivers down my spine,” Nikita elaborated to Miss Femina, adding, “As humans, we are not the owners but guardians of this planet, who have been entrusted with its welfare. Our intelligence and advancement should not only serve us but be utilized in protecting and taking care of the creatures who depend on us.”

“I want to bring into light through this platform the conservation of animals, their care, and protection. Their welfare is at stake, but most importantly, it is a question of our humanity. Since I have a lot of followers, I would start petitions to make animal protection laws in our country much stronger and comprehensive,” she said.

Nikita Porwal’s responses from the Question & Answer session:

And what Nikita said at the Question & Answer session on striking a balance between tradition and modernity simply wowed the audience. “I try to rejoice in my Indian heritage while embracing modernity,” she said. To the question of who has been the most influential person in her life, she answered confidently and empowering: “I am the most influential person in my life. Owning my own power is what inspires me each and every day to excel.” Nikita’s win is a victory of beauty, talent, and social conscience—a combination that has been driving her since she decided to make a difference. She now represents India at the Miss World beauty pageant with her new crown. Some would say, “Be a life that matters, a loss that’s felt,” is Nikita Porwal’s life motto, and with the things she has achieved so far in her life, it is for sure that she is living by it.
