TCS becomes top Employer in UAE and Saudi Arabia, 42% of local hires are Women

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian IT services exporter, has been named the Top Employers Institute’s top employer in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and South Africa for the year 2023, the firm announced in an exchange filing.

TCS has received this honor for the eighth consecutive year. The firm has been lauded for its policies and initiatives in developing a diverse workforce, with women accounting for 42% of local employees. According to the company’s website, TCS employs 9,000 individuals from 35 nationalities throughout the Middle East and Africa area.

“The dedication of TCS in the Middle East, Africa, and throughout the world to their employees is again proven via the successful accreditation as a Top Employer,” said David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute.

TCS has also been recognized for its efforts to provide opportunities to local residents and train them in advanced IT skills. In 2022, the business launched its flagship STEM education initiative, ‘TCS goIT’ Saudi Arabia, in which IT experts volunteered to reach 900 school pupils, 60% of whom were female.

TCS’s HR Director for the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean, Rajiv Kumar, stated that the company’s efforts in transforming its personnel were in step with changing technology but were essential in providing new possibilities. “Our workers take great delight in assisting clients in innovating and driving competitive difference,” Kumar continued.

TCS has taken proactive steps to train female employees at the All Women Digital Services Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The project, which employs approximately 1,000 talented women in the country, received the King Khalid Sustainability Prize.

“Our belief in generating a higher diversity quotient through a broad-based strategy including gender, ethnicity, and nationality is resulting in a more lively and nurturing workplace,” Kumar said of TCS’ commitment to driving talent transformation in the area. We are thrilled to be a part of the region’s talent revolution.”
