Priyanka Chopra Jonas was born on July 18, 1982, in Jamshedpur, India, to Indian Army physicians Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra. Her upbringing was diverse. She began her education as a resident student at La Martinière Girls College in Lucknow, and a brief stint at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly prepared her for further studies in the United States. She decided to become a software engineer or a criminal psychologist after finishing tenth grade in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She enjoys Indian music and dance, has a talent for writing poetry and short stories, enjoys reading, particularly biographies, and has worked for numerous social welfare program.
